Madame Soleil
Some of you might be expecting a heartwarming story or a dramatic transformation, but I’m afraid I have to disappoint you right away.
My skin has never really been a big problem for me. The problem was my laziness when it came to taking care of my skin and my lack of knowledge about which products to use—or, rather, which ones to avoid.
First off, you should know that I’ve always had sensitive combination skin that was prone to breakouts here and there when I was younger. With a little care and the right ingredients, though, those breakouts would have cleared up quickly—or wouldn’t have appeared in the first place—if I’d known then what I know now.
If only… would… had… well, you can’t turn back time, and who would want to anyway? After all, we want to improve and learn from our mistakes.
The mistakes that actually caused damage to my skin are now the main factors driving my decisions when it comes to choosing products, my eating habits, and my desire to spare others this painful experience.
I'm also convinced that people who feel comfortable in their own skin are happier overall.
And there’s one thing you should never forget: The skin is the largest organ in our body and protects it from external influences. All the more reason to strive for a healthy skin barrier and to care for your skin both inside and out.
P.S.: I owe the name Madame Soleil (French for “Mrs. Sunshine”) to my husband, since he always calls me “Sunshine.”
